A quantitative and confirmatory multi-residue method was developed, optimized, and validated for the determination of antiparasitic drugs in beef tissue by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS). The method was used to analyze 26 antiparasitic drugs, and benzimidazoles, nitroimidazoles, and avermectins were successfully determined. Ipronidazole-d3 was used as one of the internal standards for method validation.
The validated method showed linearity over the working range of 0.5 to 2.0 times the maximum residue limit (MRL) or minimum required performance level (MRPL) with determination coefficients (R2) higher than 0.90, except for cypermethrin, where the linearity range was defined as 50 to 200 µg kg-1. The method was selective for all analytes studied, especially in the presence of macrolides and lincosamides. The LOD values ranged from 0.007 to 66.715 µg kg-1, while the LOQ values ranged from 0.011 to 113.674 µg kg-1.
