This study aimed to investigate the presence of 11 different carbamate pesticides including furadan and pirimicarb in various camel milk samples. Pirimicarb-d6 was used as internal standard (IS) in the validation study.
Validation study
The method validation was performed for limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), linearity, extraction recovery, repeatability, intermediate precision and matrix effect for all 11 carbamate compounds.
In this work, the LOD values reported for pirimicarb, propoxur, carbofuran and carbaryl were approximately 0.01 μg/kg and the LOQ values were 0.031 μg/kg, 0.032 μg/kg, 0.034 μg/kg and 0.041 μg/kg, respectively.
According to the recovery results of extract 5, the recoveries of budesonide, carbaryl, propoxur, fenthiocarb, ethiofencarb, fenoxycarb, pirimicarb, benfenac and methiocarb were between 89% and 105%, all within the acceptable range. The recovery of pirimicarb was (100-102%).
